Dr. Kim has been a licensed clinical psychologist for more than ten years in the state of New York. She has been a New Yorker for over 30+ years and likes to get to the real core of the problem. Like a true New Yorker, she is direct and will challenge you appropriately but with empathy and compassion.

Dr. Kim works from an electrical treatment modality. Certain treatment modalities will be utilized to meet the treatment goals depending on the client’s personality, treatment history, and diagnosis. For instance, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy might be utilized with a client who suffers from an anxiety disorder that stems from cognitive distortions. In couple counseling, she utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy and Dr. John Gottman’s evidenced based research treatment.

Dr. Kim has diverse training experiences to date. Not only does she have experience administering neuropsychological assessments, but more generally, she has extensive years of experience administering and interpreting personality and cognitive assessments. She has in-depth clinical expertise in evaluating children with developmental disorder, intellectual disability, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Furthermore, Dr. Kim has been certified to administer the ADOS-2 and ADI-R through intensive training. While working at multiple day programs and residential facilities for individuals with intellectual disability and/or ASD, she was able to gain a wide range of knowledge when it comes to behavioral modification. Most recently, she spent the last two years working for the Department of State providing individual therapy to federal agency officers, who hold TS clearance.

In her spare time, she enjoys baking and continuously challenging herself with perfecting difficult baking recipes. She and her husband also enjoy traveling to warm climate countries.
